Having searched the internet in vain for this I've decided to try making them but not really sure how to go about it.

Basically I would like to make a dog lead hanger with a picture of the dog breed and the dog's name underneath and obviously a hook or peg to hang the leads on.

I saw this stall at a craft show yesterday where they had taken paper pictures and somehow stuck them on to boxes and things and made it look like they were painted on.

I was thinking glue a picture of the dog breed on a piece of wood and then maybe a few coats of varnish to seal it all.

    Would that work?

Am I making any sense at all?

I have 5 dogs to make these for.

I think that's what it's called. You can find decoupage stuff at the stores, definitely craft stores.

If you use glue you will likely have ripples.

I like a glue called mod podge- it's around 5 for a small bottle but you don't need much

OK so glue picture to wood, smooth out wrinkles, dry, varnish loads of times and sand a few times. Add hook. Send to Brit.

You can use regular white glue, Elmer's brand here, cut with water, as the glue that holds the picture to the wood. The thinner the photo/paper that you adhere to the wood, the better. In between each coat of varnish, or decoupage sealant, do a light sand so the next coat holds better.

I've done some, although it was ages ago. The supplies are probably all new and different now.
