    ...tomorrow for Boy Scout camp for a whole WEEK! He's all packed and ready.:p015:

    Momma is NOT ready!:n045:

    I just don't know how I'm going to get through this next week. I can write him letters, but I can't phone him.:sigh;

    How did you make it through the first time your baby went away?

    I was a mess the first time....I just found all the Disney stuff I could handle, stayed away from tear jerking movies...btw...Bambi and Dumbo are not to be watched!!!, and generally did anything I could think of to not think about it.....our One saving grace was the camps he went to we could email him...even see pictures...he just couldn't talk to us...:(

    the very first time my DS went away for a weekend (he was 3 and he was staying with his Grandma) I was a total mess for the first day...Rick took me out to dinner and a movie. Didn't make it better, but it was nice of him to try. The following day, I found out I could sleep in late! Woooohoooo...I still missed him, but there was so much I could do without interruptions! :)

    Alysia went away for the whole summer when she was 2. She went to stay with my grandma b/c I figured my grandma couldn't grieve herself to death over my grandpa when she was running after a toddler. It worked but boy did I miss that kid! it'll be ok, and going away to camp will be good for him.

    I did cartwheels in the front yard.......

    And what the enemy will see? They will see the flash of our cannons, and they will hear the ringing of our swords, and they will know what we can do! By the sweat of our brow and the strength of our backs and the courage in our hearts! Gentlemen, hoist the colors!

    I remember the first time my DD went away. It was for 5 days to France. The day she came home I drove down the coast to watch the ferry sail into view then follow it until it docked in Poole! Then I squeezed the life out of her!

    Figment. Here's hoping the week goes quickly for you.

    Be prepared for his return Figment. He'll tell you how wonderful it all was, how much fun he had, the new and exciting things he did, the food he ate (we drank Bug Juice MOM) the friends he made, the things he learned...then he'll ask if he can go back next year. :sigh;

    You'll wonder if he missed you at all. :( And then, my friend you will know what a wonderful job you've done raising that beautiful boy. He can be confident and safe on his own.

    Being a Mom is such hard work.
