A great big 'thank you' to anyone in our essential services that braved the conditions to carry on with your valuable work.

Doctors, hospital staff, police, emergency services etc. Thank you all! I'm sure we all appreciate your dedication.

and could I add DHL couriers to that list as one has just turned up with my disneystore.co.uk sale order so I now have fluffy Minnie Mouse slippers to keep my feet warm. :D

Here's hoping Tesco come up trumps with some food too.

Thing is when you get down to it there are so somany people who keep the country ticking - from hospital cleaning staff to the people who do the meals on wheels, the gas and electrcity people, water board, posties.... this list really is endless - we are a hive and all our workers are just as needed as any other.

Strangely those I've seen in burberry don't seem that bothered by the cold snap at the moment

    Tesco delivered!

But the driver said they have cancelled all deliveries after 6pm and may well cancel all deliveries tomorrow as it is getting worse out there. :(

Our country is like a Borg collective. If one man doesn't turn up to unlock a gate somewhere it all grinds to a halt.

I will be out braving the weather tomorrow night when I'm back to work for 7 evenings. Maybe walking but I will get to the people who need me.

DH says he spent a good part of the day going out in the one and only police land rover in our town to help out lorry drivers stuck in the snow!
