I'm sitting at my desk after lunch, thinking about the New Year and what I would like to see change.

    Certain Buzzwords or Phrases

My current favorite is "going forward", but I'm fond of "skillset" and "paradigm". I think these words need to die a violent death and never surface again in the English language. Or any other language for that matter.

What are your nominations for execution?

"we need to workshop this asap"
    "lets touch base later..."
"lets talk to ensure we're aligned on this issue"
"I hear you, your issue is on my radar"

and my personal favourite from a conference call just before christmas (yes I wrote it down, no I didnt learn it off by heart) "We need to drill down and take a high altitude view on this issue before we experience a cascade failure in our ability to leverage a 360 degree demographic paradigm shift and have to rebaseline our topdown pipeline capability"

And no, whether in the context of the day, or now, after staring at it for a month, I have no more idea what they meant than when they said it

Any and all TLA's that someone comes up with and fails to define!

BTW... TLA's are Three Letter Acronyms!

BTW... BTW is By The Way!

Tom (... COG - Cranky Old Guy... see... I defined it!)

Oh, yeah... paradigm shift makes me insane(r)!
