The BBC have been doing those ad things between programmes for about a week now but other than that I've seen no other info about it . We are in line to get about 5 golds they say.

Yep, that footage leading up to the accident was actually on the BBC tv News yesterday. They didn`t show the actual few moments though as they considered it to be too distressing.

Yes, he was a 21 year old Georgian luger. Incredibly sad. The Opening Ceremony paid respect to his loss, it was done very well.

I love Canada. I love Canada with all my heart. They are such a diverse country and so very inclusive of everyone. They did an incredible job of incorporating so many apsects of their country into the Opening Ceremony, from someone who rocketed to fame through You Tube, to the beautiful voiced K.D. Lang, to Bryan Adams, to their native peoples... it was beautiful.

Even with the last "leg" of the final torch display did not rise, they were unfazed and the final lighting took place. Wayne Gretzky (of course, who else could it possibly be!) then rode with the lit torch across the city to the outdoor torch. Beautiful.

Nancy Green!!! She was my alpine idol when I was a kid. She was one who carried in the Olympic flag, along with Terry Fox's Mom.

I love the Olympics, the Winter Olympics in particular, and I hope I am able to see some of these games (what with all my travel).
