    Hmm the 10-22 looks tempting for the astrotrac I bought I want a whole sky filled with stars

    The 50mm is a decentist cheap lens but the quality of the glass just isn't there - this is teh probalem - now I have used an L I'm going to find it very hard not to buy non L lenses I am such a complete snob when it comes to stuff like that - you can see the difference in the shots I put on the astrotrac thread there was chromatic abberation and coma on the 50mm but none on the l lens at all

    i know what you mean, the 50mm is great for portraits but when i get the light right the 70-200 knocks the socks off it. The skin tones are creamy, colour is vivid and it's as sharp as a very sharp thing.

    We are spoiled now hun

    I think I'd rather wait and save for an L lens in future than buy cheap I got the 75-300mm to take a pic for the astro stuff and it was hopeless

    Nut, I don't think you'd gain anything in getting the canon one


    just scrolled up and forgot you had a different one from me- i have the tamron and have had some reasonable results from it.

    no i wouldnt gain anything at all in fact id probably lose. i was just wondering what differences there were apart from the focal length and macro on mine
