Liz, i'm sorry i'm going to be really bossy and hard but you really do not have a choice. Do you really want to risk your life over some embarassment? if not just for yourself do it for those that love you.

I am sure that if you explain the situation then you will be able to get some kind of sedation to help you through. Maybe your GP can prescribe you something to get you through it.

Now please go and do it and whatever the results your family and friends and us can help you deal with the results

I'm sure that I can't say anything that hasn't been said so far, but I agree, please make the appointment.

I know it is scary and you don't want to do it, but you have to know for sure. I know that is easy to say, but it really is true. I wish we could hold your hand, but we will be with you any way we can

Well after all the replies on here and some private messages i have decided that i MUST have this test done.

Anyway i plucked up the courage to phone my GP this morning only to be greeted by the receptionist wanting to know why i wanted to speak to him.
I explained the situation and well she just laughed and thought it was funny what i needed to have done.
Well i thought you have a camara shoved up your **** and then laugh and see how you like it.

She said that she would leave a note for him and get him to phone me back.
    Thats ok i said.
Well many hours later still no phone call :mad:so i phoned back and said i need to speak to him as soon as possible before i change my mind.

She then said i don't think he got your message from this morning, but i will see if he is in his room.
He wasn't so she said phone back in ten minutes.
I then phoned back and was on hold for ages and ages listening to this awful tune they played in my ear,it was driving me scatty.

After a long wait and this awful tune stuck in my head i finaly got through to him and said i will go ahead with the test, he seemed rather pleased at the idea.
So now he is going to make all the arrangments and keep in touch with me.
Probably only have to wait 2 weeks for it.
I also asked for sedation and he is going to see what he can do.

So fingers crossed all will go well for me.

Can i just say thank you to all who replied to my thread and to them that sent me PM's, you know who you are. to you all.

You have all been so kind and caring to which i am most grateful.

    Thank you.

i'm glad you were persistant and are going to the appt. I know things can be uncomfortable and embarrassing but they still need to be done. I will keep you in my prayers.

You should mention this to your GP, that is inexcusable behaviour.:(
