Despite telling the main dealer that I`m not on the market yet to change my car, he insisted that today I took a test drive in the new Jag XJ as they had one available just for the one day.
Just got back from the drive and in a word it`s stunning.
The one I drove was the 3L diesel and it was so smooth...and 30+ mpg to boot!
There are also loads of toys on board to keep you twiddling with all the knobs for ages!
Now, if only my lottery numbers come up.

I know I know me too

I loved the totally programmable LCD dashboard.

I'm a bit stuck at the moment, I did have an xf on order but I'm now not sure so I've gone back to the drawing board. I still like my BMW 7s too so :/

Hmm Jags aren't they that famous Indian company that used to be American

Seriously I love any of the Jags I've driven - and I'd love to have one one day - the biggest problem wit them is depreciation - my mates Dad was a multi millionaire and had a super luxurious XJS - cream leather walnut and all the whizzbangs v12 I think it had (or though I might be wrong)- 70 grand at least new - 10 years old and the dealer offered him less than 2 grand for it!!!!! - if it hadn't been longer than the QE2 I'd have bitten his arm off for it

The guys from Jaguar who delivered the car said the very same thing Mike.
The rear lights are meant to represent scratch marks made by the Jaguar`s claws apparently!

Can`t wait for the 620bhp "R" version to be released.
Now that is one car I MUST test drive!

To be honest, the jags I've had have held their value better than similar marques and I say that whilst I'm eyeing a particularly expensive BMW in another window on my screen.

Generally the way it goes with a used jag is you go in thinking you'll grab a cheap couple of years old edition and before 10 mins is up in the dealership you realise that you're only saving a few grand and may as well spec a new one.

Of course on the top of the range side, bmw 7, jag xj, yep, you lose 10-15k when you drive out of the dealership. The only thing to do is to keep looking at the beauty on the path and under no circumstances revisit the dealership or websites in case you catch sight of how much it's now worth
