Does anyone know if we can use a tripod for our cameras and video camera in the parks?
I know some places wont let us in the UK because they say it's a safety risk for other guests
I *have* seen people with full size tripods yep, now whether they've smuggled them in or it's allowed I don't know I'd quite LIKE to know though Wonder who we could ask to find out for sure?
I have seen their "pro" policy at work though. Disney apparently supplied to all their security people, a rather shoddy black and white photocopied sheet with a semi long lens on it saying not to allow them Of course it's complete insanity but there we go!
It seems to depend on who you get at the gate.Originally Posted by Skywatcher, post: 204194
I just did a check on the photo forum and loads of people saying they got in with tons of kit no problem but every so often you see someone who didn't.
hmmm that I don't know. The guy I saw told the security guy where he'd like to insert the lens then stomped off towards the monorail so :/ not sureOriginally Posted by Skywatcher, post: 204202
Mind you I was once "apprehended" for walking through the no bags line with a small umbrella so anything's possible depending who you happen to walk past
It's a hard one. I'm pretty sure it's a stupid policy made up on the spot by a higher up in Disneyland, CA. The rumour, and it sounds very plausible to me, is that some minor celeb was wandering round with a high ranking disney official (fan) of theirs. As they were, the paps were firing off shots in front of them and the disney official was embarrassed by it, went back to his office and issued this stupid restriction to all parks and security folks. The idea being only the paps would have the larger lenses so it wouldnt affect the holiday makers.Originally Posted by Skywatcher, post: 204207
When they started the photopass idea I was quite worried though in case it went the way you suggest. However I've had photopass people comment on my kit, talk to me about photography and in many cases offer to take our photo using my own camera.
Ill probably be using the 5dMKII+24-105 this time around so I'll let you know if I have problems
