They sync to iTunes as two separate devices. You can selectively decide which apps go on which devices. At least for the iPhone apps. They're the only ones that can run on both devices.

    Does this make any sense?

Tom (... now, which app was that?)

As long as you only have one iTunes account and you give each iPad a unique name, you should be able to sync both of them to the same iTunes account. Then everybody ends up with the same programs.

At least that's how it's purported to work!

Tom (... too many accounts, not enough iPads!)

BTW - it doesn't matter if you buy the app from the app store on the iPad or from within iTunes. The next time you sync, they all wind up in iTunes.

ok, daft as it sounds I don't usually sync the iPhone for anything other than software updates.

interesting that could save quite a bit if I buy scrabble and pages once rather than twice, not that bothered about music TBH

Well I downloaded and ran it from my US itunes account all fine

I then reset and logged in with my uk itunes and again downloaded it fine but all the books I could find seem to be free ones.

I think it'll be ok, they're probably still working on populating the library
