    Yes, they do look good, but a Whoopie pie is not a black and white

    A black and white is also known as a half moon and comes from a town about 20 minutes from where I live

    Hey we have to hold onto the good things that come from this area. Makes it easier to overlook some of the 'other' stuff

    Oh and Now I'm more like 10 minutes from Utica..I keep forgetting I moved :lol;

    Half moon cookies are completely different from Whoopie Pies which are quite nasty in my opinion. ICK! Cloyingly sweet.

    I only like half moons if they are with the chocolate cookie, not the vanilla cookie.

    I think Whoopie Pies were started/created in Maine? Have to check that one...

    Pasticiottis, known locally as puhsties (that's the local pronounciation) are another Utica specialty.

    Remember when the Florentine used to be the BEST!!! Sad little shop now, but they still make wicked pasticiottis and rum cakes!

    Another icky, too sweet USA "treat" is the Moon Pie. <shudder> More popular in the south, I believe...
