Thread: First go at processing a RAW

    Hmmm

    Still don't know - needs practice

    First was with just iPhoto



    Next was having a bash with aperture, almost too much to have a play with - love that you can remove things like the chimney stack though, think I may prefer the first one



    Amazed reading about Herring gulls that they are on the Red list - they are in critical decline with 140,000 individuals on the island - with 700 living in our village I assumed they were pretty common - if you consider that there are 2m Puffins it puts that into perspective

    In some ways I like the first shot better, but you must admit, the bird is really shown off majestically in the second.

    Glad you asked it was very complicated

    I uploaded the file to iphotos and wiggled the sliders in adjust about a bit

    Well I'm not quite sure what you're expecting you see? At its most basic, all you're gonna see is a nice conversion from raw data to jpg/png or whatever.

    The "goodness" comes with the scope for pulling back lost detail, making mods and so on.

    What are you not getting that you were expecting?
