So I worked my first day at my part time position and it was not good. I want to quit. I'm normally not a quitter, but I just don't want to go back. My position is a position where you are stuck in one place and everyone else leaves you behind to go bs. I was helping in the place where I will be and we had to go to other places because those suppose to be in those places are doing just what I mentioned above. I had said only 20 hours and I'm already booked for 22.25. I know 2.25 hours is not much, but it is when you are going to school full time and participating in a practicum 2 days a week.

I just don't know what to do. I'm embarrassed to call the boss and quit, but I want to.

    Sorry for whining.

    Thanks!

I'm trying to find my big girl panties, so that I will feel big to call and say that it's not going to work out.

I busted my behind this morning stocking a new area and everyone else pretty much stood around.

    How horrible for you Billie.

If it's not right this early then it probably won't get better unless you say something early on - people tend to get stuck in a routine so all the others are possibly oblivious to their shortcomings

I'm sure you'll make the right choice - do what feels right for YOU

Quitting feels right, but in these circumstances I don't enjoy the confrontation of just being hired and quitting so quickly. But like you said, I don't think it's going to get better.

Perhaps if you tell your employer why you want to quite so soon then something will be done about it

Either way, I'm so sorry that you've had such a horrid experience

It's just disappointing. Maybe I had forgotten somewhat what it's like working in retail. There are those who go to work, to work and well then there are others. To me, if you keep busy then time flies.
