Im thinking maybe of this one Camcorders - HD Camcorders - HDC-TM700 - Overview - UK & Ireland

The panasonics have 3 sensors which apparently gives them much better colours than the others, anyone any experience or opinions?

No experience using it but the specs make it look top notch If you look on youtube and put in the model number of any camera you are potentially buying there is usually example videos people have done.

Make sure you turn on HD though because otherwise they won't show at their full HD resolution.

I, along with a videographer friend, were in pcworld and we stopped to try a low cost panasonic they had on special offer. It was a total consumer low end model but we were still wowed by the low light capability and the macro! we put our fingers right in front of the lens, couple of cms, and it was showing the ridges in our fingerprints perfectly on screen.

    we were definitely impressed

yup, it's actually 3 CCDs or usually 3*CMOS nowadays for red/green/blue. The upside is said to be better colours the downside a little worse performance in lowlight since they're using a prism to split the light.
