Worked out what I will be paying tomorrow.....
£80 to finish off the current contact and £119 for the upgrade....
Not bad I suppose.......
The que in the apple shop in Birmingham at 1pm (theyve been open since 9) was about 300 people long +, it's out the door of the bullring shopping centre!! And all those people have pre-ordered it!!
There's even a que to just go in and look at one...
Guess I'll see one after the weekend...

Tom (... waiting a bit!)
I havent had a real chance to play with it because at work there are lots of grubby little fingers all poised ready to poke and prod it. So I've just kept it away from them all
Initial impressions, feels MUCH smaller than the older ones and lighter. Whether it REALLY is *much* smaller well dunno, but it feels it in a good way!
Screen, well I looked at it and thought yeah its great but then so were the old ones so? Then I displayed photos and started comparing and yeah, the new one looks lovely, detailed and sharp. I havent seen any of the yellow patches people have complained about on some units.
Camera FAR better really pleased about that. Will take some later to really compare. Pretty impressed with the video too!
Speed feels very very snappy indeed! one guy has a 3G still and it's night and day different to that!!!
Other than that it's all ios4 stuff that was in 3gs anyway although I may grab imovie to try because apparently it's fantastic.
The weirdest thing is that design wise it's more like the pre-iphone phones just a slab of phone albeit it thin and yet somehow now everyone oooos at it and says it makes the other ones look old. How did they manage that ?
yeah but mine said they were accepting "under the counter" lists it really does seem to depend on the store and how they feel.Originally Posted by Skywatcher, post: 219190
There's a thread on macrumors that said some stores had got over 100 and hardly any queues so there may well be some left depending on the store and its location
