    We're due to arrive in Sarasota in 3 weeks and also Siesta Key... hope it's clear but doubting it now...

    Yes, that's true. :(

    Arkvilla, I don't know. The oil is creeping south... still heavier in the big bend area but I'd expect to see some in Sarasota if I were you. I know Clearwater has some. :(

    Yes. Sarasota is still a beautiful area. I know someone who lives on Siesta Key. I'll ask about the oil...

    I've heard back from my friend and the beach is NOT affected by the oil spill at this time. It's reported as beautiful and you are assured that you will have a beautiful time!
