Not meant to be epic pics - these were taken in Battle woods - someone leaves out seed so that the wild birds come and take them, went to have a look to see if there were any of my 'best' birds which are Nuthatches, I absolutely love these as when they are in full mating plumage they look absolutely jawdroppingly beautiful, almost like little kingfishers.

Unfortunately, much like in the human world after they have spent a while raising kids they tend to let themselves go and go through a moult ( I know I am ) so this little guy was hardly at his best

I know composition isn't great as its on a bird table but the flippin table was in the shade on a shady day - so I had the curse of iso 1600 again, if I dropped that, well they were just too quick for any shots that were not blurred by motion.

The squirrel was watching for bits that were falling off , I love it when they hold things in their left hand like this

S'funny as its almost identical to the ear pattern from the one we have in the garden but thats about 10 miles away - must be a common thing

Like the squirrel one :) Think the bird one could do with a little more exposure and a bit more pop, perhaps try playing with the levels and contrast :)

Yep totally agree Lisa. Have had a play but it doesn't add much as the natural light was so flat. Basically I just wanted a shot of a nuthatch. I liked the side lighting on the squirrel.

Tiny quick birds like these really really need good light
