Since updating to Windows 2007, I find I don't have a good photo editing software anymore. My old software wasn't the fanciest, but it did the job.

Now I find myself with the need to manipulate a photo - I need a "clone" option to remove extraneous objects.

Does anyone know of a free photo editing software that includes cloning?

    Thanks!

It's not free, but photoshop essentials is absolutely excellent and well worth the money

Josh, I've never heard of GIMP. I'll check it out.

Keith, I've never had any luck with Photoshop. It is the MOST user unfriendly software I've ever attemped to use. I used to have it on my old laptop and eventually gave up on it. I had no luck using it to do much of anything - and I'm a software person.

Donna, photoshop elements really isnt like photoshop full. It's designed from ground up to be easy to use and has wizards for cloning and much much more. Im sure a lot of people feel how you do about photoshop and therefore miss out on the much more user friendly elements.

Even with Photoshop Essentials? It's substantially easier to use than full Photoshop in my opinion.

I haven't tried Essentials. I'll have to take a look. If it is actually user friendly, I'll be shocked. I am not an Adobe fan - in any of its forms.

    Me either. But it's tolerable.
