    The other two eggs I was waiting on where both dead-in-shell babies It's bound to happen and other breeders have had a terrible year this year. Little Buddha will have to be on her own.

    It's hard to take ut this is just what you have to expect when breeding anything, you have good years and bad years, this just happens to be a very bad one!

    There must be a reason but no-one is any the wiser, we're not sure why it is. The weather has been quite good and then switched suddenly so it could be that (tortoises can sense the change in baromatic pressure as a trigger to hibernation.) As that would be the only way eggs in an incubator could know the weather conditions on the outside.

    It doesn't sound very feasible. A more likely reason is the amount of bad summers we've had repeatedly meaning that breeding conditions have been less than ideal.
