that our favorite local Mexican restaurant got a 74 on it's latest health services inspection.

    I don't feel so good...

I had that happen a while ago too, Catrancher. A favorite Vietnamese restaurant of mine FAILED its health inspection in part because the kitchen was overrun with cockroaches.

Needless to say, I've not been back. Ugh.

    I'm guessing 74 out of 100, Tom?

    That's still a "C".

Yeah, but who wants to eat in a C?

I like the California system of consumer information. Any eating establishment has to have a placard prominently displayed that shows the rating. "A"s are the only places we'll eat.

Yeah, but it's your dinner we're talking about.

Not exactly what you'd call fine cuisine!

I can tell you from working as a job coach and doing lots of training in kitchens that you do NOT want to know what goes on back there. Just because an inspector came in and gave a rating of A does not mean they are an A all of the time. Same applies for a C.

Nope, it only means that they were an A on the day of inspection.
