    Hi Guys
Thank you so much for all of your concern and good wishes. The texts actually kept me going while in hospital

I was getting ready for work friday morning and felt fine when suddenly I got a sharp pain across my lower abdomen. I tried to ignore it thinking it would go away.
Within a couple of minutes I was bent over with the pain and had to be helped back to bed. The pain would ease a little then kept coming in waves which were so painful they had me crying and screaming out.
DH ended up calling the doctor who heard me in the background and said to phone for an ambulance - which we did.

I was taken to hospital. The morphine they gave me in the ambulance did nothing to help. At the hospital they gave me even more morphine! I was sick.
After answering a few questions and taking blood samples I was left for a while. When the doctor came back they said I needed to also give a urine sample and go for a chest xray.

After being left again, when the doctor came back he said that the surgeon was waiting to see me to admit me for an operation - but he had no details. I was admitted to the hospital at this point and taken to a ward.

Hours later I had a visit from the doctor and the surgeon together. The first idea was to take my appendix out after an identical hospital addmittance two months back which they let me go saying it was suspected appendix. However, the surgeon was disagreeing with the doctor saying he didn't think it was my appendix.

They wanted to wait to see what happened. So, I was put on clear liquids only and stayed that way for the three days I was there in case they needed to operate.

When I asked why they had done every test imaginable apart from actually looking at the area I was in pain with, I was told it wasn't routine to do an abdominable CT scan.

I was having my temperature which was quite high and blood pressure taken every couple of hours including during the night. I was also attached to a drip.

If i could have stood up straight, you could have knocked me over with a feather when on the third day I was told that I could have a sandwich for lunch and if I kept it down, I was being sent home to recover.

So, yesterday, I came home. Couldn't straighten myself as the pain is still bad so went straight to bed where I've stayed for the last 24 hours.

I had to ring the local doctors to make an appointment for thursday to see how I was going and to get them to arrange a CT scan of my abdomin to see what's going on - still can't get over how they just didn't do one while I was at the hospital though!

Anyway, I rang the doctors and they won't be able to fit me in until friday afternoon. My five day self sick note will run out before then so I need to pull myself together to get back to work at the end of the week.

I think that's about it and just sitting here hurts so I'm back off to bed. Just wanted to let you all know how much the texts have helped And, thanks to Nicki for keeping everyone up to speed.

    Hopefully see you all soon

The very first thing they did when my daughter was having the same type of pains a couple of years ago was to do a CT scan!! How on earth do they expect to make a correct diagnosis without one??

Can you ask to see a specialist or is that not possible?

I really do hope they find out what's wrong very very soon
