We've been back to the park and Steven's had his pony ride on Starr.

And this is the origami Shamu that came in the post this morning.

He looks like he's really having fun Dawn. I'm also surprised to see that they are using a hunt saddle instead of a western one.

There are different types of saddles?

He really likes his pony rides. How much are riding lessons? Oh wait I have the piano lessons to pay for. And less chance of breaking a leg playing a piano.

There are all sorts of saddles, jumping, english, hunter, western, trail.... etc. etc. Take a look http://www.timberlinesaddlecompany.com/

Also, if you don't want to spend thousands and thousands of dollars then don't let the boy do riding lessons because that leads to special clothes (see the picture of the lady doing the horseback right with him, she's wearing pants that are especilly made for riding and they start at about $75 a pair). The of course he'll need riding boots, a hat, gloves, which he will out grow every year. Eventually he'll want his own horse which is beyong expensive. In other words stay with the piano !!!!
