No, not the kind you put peanut butter or cheese on, or the kind you crumble up into your chili or clam chowder. I'm talking about the type of "cracker" that Lisa1976 included in my lovely ornament package.

When do I get to pop (?) them? Is there a certain day or time? I want to do this correctly, you know. And I've never had crackers before. So your advice would be appreciated!

Oh thats such a wonderful idea to include those!

Generally we would lay them out for the christmas meal and then comes the debate as to when to pull them.

We tend to do them before/alongside dessert but other people argue that the best time is before the meal so that people can wear the party hats etc through the meal

Ok... We only have two of them and I wouldn't want to flaunt my good luck in front of our family and guests. Would it be acceptable if we popped them on Christmas Eve?

I almost hate to pop them! They are so interesting and festive looking.

I'm glad you like them Donna. Can't believe that you have never had crackers before!!

We're like Keith and have them on the table christmas day and normally pull them just before we eat, but im sure Christmas Eve will work just as well :-) I'm not sure what you will get in them as they are very small but if you have a hat its obligatory to wear it (Ooo and pictures would be good too lol) :)

I always forget that you don't have crackers in the US! We usually do them just before the meal

Well, now I'm getting excited about popping them! However, I think I'll let John have one of them since I have two!

The World has gone crazy over here, thanks to the wonderful Health and safety laws.
Apparently you now have to be a certain age [over 16?] in order to purchase Christmas crackers as they are deemed to contain high explosive!
