So I was talking to my friend Amy, she lived in England for 5 years and would always giggle when her husband (now ex husband, but they are still REALLY good friends) would say "we are in the middle of no where" while they were living there.

When people in the states say "middle of no where" it REALLY is...things like this

Is the middle of no where..what does it mean to you?

And what the enemy will see? They will see the flash of our cannons, and they will hear the ringing of our swords, and they will know what we can do! By the sweat of our brow and the strength of our backs and the courage in our hearts! Gentlemen, hoist the colors!

I know what you mean Sara in the UK nowhere is really that remote some areas of scotland or the moors can feel pretty bleak though.

Someone once said to me 'people in the UK think 100 miles is a long way, people in the US think 100 years is a long time :D'

That said I don't think the UK is as small as some would be led to believe, you wouldn't want to hoover it for instance :D
