Still flippin cold here, got back this afternoon and there was a thick frost that is still out there now

Looked kind of pretty so I took a few pics

The found a large block of ice on a wheelbarrow and had a play with the flashgun

    leaf trapped in ice

Final 2 before you snooze off ;) this was a bubble in the ice that I smashed open and then tried to light in 2 ways - first gave an unexpected rainbow effect that I tried to play with

Then tried the gun in a different way to make it look like the ice was glowing

Just backin a realised the outside tap had been dripping giving us this huge stalagmite

So spent ages trying to get a shot of the drip

Best I managed before my bits went very small

    "Cool" shots Chris!

I gotta get me an external strobe. The on camera one just doesn't get it for anything more than as a very basic fill light.

BTW - don't you just hate it when you've got frozen bits?

The flashgun has made a big difference, I was at the point where if there wasn't enough natural light then I just wasn't bothering at all as the on board flash was awful and , with the lenses I had wasn't even working as it created a big shadow!

Bouncing the flash is brilliant fun and as I am a licky boy and have a 7d now I can use the gun off camera which is great fun

must learn more though as most of the shots are still too harsh even with the diffusers on

Great shots. My favourite is the one of the outside tap! It's amazing!!

I need an external flash too. My pictures from yesterday were awful because they were all indoors and the inbuilt flash just washes everyone out and makes a massive shadow!

Cheers bud, amazingly the 150 quid flash is made 10x better with a 3 quid plastic diffuser from eBay
