OK I know this is a weird thing to ask on a disney forum but anyway

Im having an argument with a friend over whats best to do. Leave the heating on all day/night at a set temperature say 70 and that way the house just gets constantly topped up to that temperature or switch it off when we go out and back on when we come back in. Obviously that saves the gas when we're out but then it has to heat it up from scratch again

    What do you do?

I put my house in setting number 2 all day long and this is low setting so the house is just warm (70) and it worked out much cheaper for us. (An expert on TV recommend this too)

We have a programmable thermostat. It comes on and heats the house up to 68 by the time we are out of bed. It drops back to 63 while we are at work (no sense heating when we aren't home). In the afternoon it kicks on about an hour before we arrive and is back to 68. We have a small space heater in the family room if we want extra heat and of course I can always set it up a few degrees if it is exceptionally chilly in the house.
