How do you get a herring gull? Do you put sardines out?

We get some blue tits on our fat balls but other than that I'm not sure. Mum is joining the ranks of the twitchers and now keeps a pair of binoculars by the kitchen window I keep laughing at her

We have binoculars by our window as well :dozey:

It's amazing how many spieces you will get, bet you have dunnocks and call them sparrows :)

We have lots of herring gulls, they love peanuts and mealworms.

Actually I think they are our rarest bird believe it or not, they are on the red list. Heavily outnumbered by even puffins!

Now I've googled, you're right I got excited when we got a red robin came in the garden, and I have a slight chuckle when we get blue tits, but that's as far as my interest goes.

Thats how I used to be , but its lie most things the more you know the more fascinating it becomes.

Those bkue tits in teh garden aren't the same ones you have in the summer - these chaps are from the north or even scandinavia.

just think about their tiny little bodies with there miniscule hearts lungs and organs and how phenominal it is that these things fly thousands and thousands of miles
