OK I won't go into too much detail, we have always loved DLP and it has been very important to us as a family over the years, but the trip we took last weekend was really rather disappointing

The weather was awful - fog then driving cold rain.

    Crazy busy

Bizarre fast past queues that just merge with the regular queues with no marshalling by the largely uninterested cast members

80% of the crowds were french teens/early 20's so ther was no 'young family feel' at all as you can see from the photos

As a result there was smoke everywhere, and I mean everywhere - even in the queue for the Buzz lightyear ride, we all stank of smoke after the first 10 minutes.

The cost of food was beyond ridiculous - we had a meal at cafe Mickey which was a character meal - saw 2 characters for a few seconds - boys had a tiny kids pizza each, I had an escalope and Lisa had a salad - no started, no pudding, 1 tiny drink each - I mean sub 330ml - total cost of meal with bad service ( no tip ) 90 euros!! i.e about $130 !!!

Any way some photos for you - the hotel was nice - the New York we stayed in , first time ever - Empire state rooms so we got the VIP fastpass which was well worth it otherwise we would have gotten on no rides at all - a lot of rides had 120 minute queues plus

Boys enjoyed it in the main - I think we are just a bit sad as the magic seems to have gone

Not good photos as it was very very very dark, very wet and colder than I can describe

-Oh and the castle was 30% covered up as well :(

Seems like the Brits have done most of the work then ;)

And probably the only photo I'm chuffed with, its the Dragon that sleeps under the castle, it is pitch dark down there and it is constantly moving, roaring and breathing so this is a loooong exposure - but it came out ok :)

I had a quick flick through earlier and the first thing I spotted was Lisa's iPhone cover! Sad or what! Just had a proper look and they are great photos mate, really awful though that you didn't have a good time The photos are great despite the weather. I get the impression DLP is a lot more spaced out than WDW!

Yeah , thats the tradgedy the park itself it muchj much nicer than magic Kingdom , beautifully themed and presented , and well greener for obvious reasons as well

Some keep saying 'unavaliable' on here but they are on the flickr - not sure what is going ok TBH

Its in the Touy story area its the green army man parachute drop - up and down ride like TOT but with an army feel - the whole area is really well themed with K'Nex fencing

The RC racer was just scary stuff you go almost upside down on it! What I havent got a pic of is the Slinky dog ride which is a sort of lumpy roundabout thing :D

Ah. I don't remember seeing a Toy Story area when we were there.

DLRP would be an amazing place if there were no other guests to get in the way. :D

I cannot believe how big the boys are getting.

Thank you for the glimpse of DLP! Probably the closest we'll ever get. I've heard too many not so great stories about the place to truly want to go.

I'm continuing to save our pennies for Ireland and England and Scotland and Wales! :D

Welcome to our new home! It's a lovely and friendly place. If you haven't joined yet, do register. It's a great place to make friends and share all those Disney secrets!!

If you click on the ones that are unavailable you can see them!

I ave to be honest and say that the way DLP looks in your photos is the way ive always thought it to be - and how you described it, which i think is the reason i've never really looked into us going there, that and the cost which is too much for me to justify for just a few days

Having said that, the park does look very good! Thanks for posting the photos, was really good to have a look through them!
