Went today to see the new African Painted Dogs there. They were very interesting but would not move from the middle of the (massive) enclosure and therefore couldn't get shots close up, even with the new lens! Some of the photos have some VERY weird blurring on them which at first I thought was something wrong with the lens.. then I realised it was where the glass was!

Anyway, here are some pics- first time I've used the Tamron 'in-the-field'.

Thank you! Me too. I had to wait forever for them to turn around. My favourite is the elephant. It's not the photo that I like- just the detail!

Great pics Josh. I can't remember the last time I visited ANY zoo.

Thanks! :) I love the zoo- I go several times a year. I like the fact that Chester has a good variety of animals but it's still quite spaced out and also contributes so much to conservation efforts!

    Looking good Josh!

Like John, it's been a while since I've been to the zoo. Up until my DW retired, we used to take her kindergarten class every year but haven't been since then.

Oh well, good old days and all that!
