Disney has released a new video featuring behind the scenes footage of Paradise Pier and the Goofy's Sky School rollercoaster at California Adventure.

Paradise Pier has undergone a major transformation over the last two years, which has seen the addition of the World of Color nighttime show and the soon-to-debut The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure dark ride. The reopening of the updated Goofy's Sky School on July 1 will mark the completion of the overhaul.

Disney Imagineer Larry Nikolai offers an insight into the work being undetaken in the video, embedded below:

Goofy's Sky School is a revamped version of the former Mulholland Madness coaster, which closed on October 12, 2010. The attraction is a classic wild mouse coaster, featuring sharp turns and sudden drops and reaching a top speed of 27 miles per hour. The transformation will see it receive a new theme based on the 1940 cartoon Goofy's Glider, which tells the story of Goofy attempting to teach pilots how to fly.

Two new restaurants, Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta and the Paradise Garden Grill, are set to open in Paradise Pier on July 1. In addition, the Corn Dog Castle will also reopen after a lengthy closure. These are to set to fit in with the new theme for the area, which is designed to evoke a 1920s-era seaside resort.
