Tropical storm IRENE could hit florida on friday just my luck that is the day i arrive
Nooooooo! say it isn't so! What time do you leave Robert?
A cast member here says the storm is supposed to hit Friday at about two pm. If the storm doesn't detour your flight will probably be delayed or cancelled. I am in WDW now and will be here until until the 30th. I was here 2 or 3 years ago during a mild tropical storm that hovered over wdw for 4 days straight, kind of ruined our vacation. I am hoping this one weakens or turns out to sea.

MY TRIP REPORT INDEX
Just been upgraded to a hurricane.
Ironic that the name Irene is derived from the Greek word for "peace
Based on the current storm track and predicted timing, Irene looks like she'll be right at the St. Augustine area at almost exactly the time you're scheduled to arrive. If by some odd chance, you're flight isn't cancelled or diverted and you do manage to get to Sanford, do not attempt to drive in that weather. The winds from a hurricane are capable of blowing a moving car right off the road. Not to mention the torrential rain. Find somewhere to hunker down and wait it out. You don't want to be out and about in hurricane force wind and rain.
Hmmm... as for me. It looks like I may have a rainy, windy weekend coming up!
Tom (... maybe I better mow the grass one evening this week!)
