    as some will know ive just bought a sigma 70-300 apo macro lens......when im in macro mode at the top end 200-300 i cant focus at all any ideas?

    you REALLLLLLY can't focus or you haven't moved far enough away from the subject to focus?

    ah but thats TOO far for a macro

    It's a bit of a try it and see game to be honest. The idea of a macro is that it allows you to focus close and get a smallish subject large in the viewfinder. Thing is, the long end of a 70-300 may just struggle to do that.

    To be honest, it sounds like a dedicated macro lens should be on your shopping list

    Well really the whole point of the macro setting is to enable the lens to focus closer than it would have done soooo :/
