    Im reading a spec on a camera, if it doesnt say in the spec "zoom - xx" how do i know what the zoom is?

    does it give just the numbers? 28->135 or something?

    Yep, saw that it said that - but that doesnt mean much to me! Is that a good zoom or not really?

    It's not much of a zoom at all :) you'd call it a "normal" range lens really.

    To be what I think you want, you're looking for at least 100m and probably 200m would be more what you're hoping for :)

    Really? Oh im a bit disappointed

    I think i will take a trip into town and have a look at them then i can faff around with the zooms too. Wont bother to post the next link then if the first one was a rubbish zoom!

    Yeah, I don't know much about cameras but 70mm is nothing.

    You may already be aware of this but some, if not all cameras [non DSLR] have a digital zoom, however you would be very disappointed with the quality of the shots.
