I took the kids to see Lion King 3D after school today. It was fun seeing it again on the big screen. My wife and I saw it in the theaters while we were on our honeymoon in WDW back in July 1994. My kids have watched it on vhs and dvd a hundred times but they "made" me take them and I am glad they did.

I took Alysia to the theater when it came out. She was 3. It's hard to believe this movie is 17 years old.

Was it 'pure' 3D as I am thinking of buying Lion King and Beauty and the Beast 3D....

It's a very special movie to me as it's as old as Daniel. He loved this movie. I think he still does

Donna asked our grandson Nathanael if he would like to go see it and get some popcorn and put on 3D glasses like he did for Cars 2 and he told her no.

I dont know what pure 3D is, the 3D effect made the scenery much nicer and clearer to look at. I normally dont like 3D movies but I think it added to this movie.

Where did all the time go kid? Alysia and my Alex are getting up there! Went to see it yesterday in 3D...just the old man and DD. We used to sit on the couch and watch it when she, like Alysia, was 3 or 4. Brought back a lot of memories.

Side note...they didn't really do too much for the 3D stuff. Guess it was sort of hard to render a lot of the effects for a movie that was not originally designed with schlocky effects.

But we had a GREAT time!
