No. It's actually much slower than that.

Well... I now have IOS 5 on my iPhone and it's currently loading on my iPad.

Haven't had a chance to play with it much yet so the only thing I can say so far is:

    Ohhh.... shiny!

Well I'm impressed! (Although to be fair, it doesn't take much).

I like iMessenger, I like the way texts and emails come up as a little banner across the top of the screen, I like iCloud and I like find my iPhone.

Busy night last night doing the iPhones and an iPad. :bored2: Had to do the other iPad today. Haven't done the iTouch but not sure if it applies to them.

Has anyone had any problems with iOS 5? I waited ALL evening through a DREADFUL after-hours event at work only to get home, excited to download, and read this on facebook (by someone who I consider a "trusted resource" of sorts:

"Don't update your iPhone to iOS 5, its killing iPhones left and right. I'm at the 5th Ave Apple Store with about 50 people with the issue."

Anything on anyone else's radar before I bite the bullet?

No issues for me so far. But then, I've only had it for a couple of hours now. At least on my iPhone. It's still loading on my iPad.

I did have a couple of minor sync issues when it was loading. The capacity thermometer on the iTunes Summary page for my iPhone (and my iPad) indicated that I had too much stuff. Told me that "other" was too big. Whatever the heck "other" was. I just stopped the sync and restarted it and everything seems to be OK now.

It does take quite a while to do however.

Tom(... wonder what kind of issues those people were having?)

Just downloaded iOS 5. Seems fine so far, haven't had a moment to play extensively with it yet.

Am I correct that Siri does NOT come with the iOS 5 unless you buy the 4s?

Yep. Supposedly needs the extra processing horsepower.

Tom (... confused since it worked fine on older iPhones before Apple bought it!)

Yep. And I have a parent who has been beta testing it on his current iPhone for quite a while....
