To be fair if ou are going to photograph it it is probably better in widefield ie try and catch it au naturale over a rooftop or behind a tree with some scenery rather than going for anything too close in - will try and have a go when I can and show you

Withe a zoom lens you may well get it to be a disc but the battle will be focus and then a trade off between length of exposure and trailing as it moves

good luck and let me know how you get on :D

well now, we'll be in Ireland on Sunday so i may just nip down to one of the beaches to take a look - i know of a couple that won't be surrounded by house/street lighting......thank you

just a thought, on Tuesday last week i was out the front of my house around 10pm and saw a single bright light in the erm,..... south ish direction - there were no other stars in sight and this was very bright. It didn't move and we stood there watching it for a while - i decided it was a planet or space station, was i right? :D

I think we either need Chris to visit us all and show us around the night sky or there's that gadget I've seen which you point at the sky and it's supposed to tell you what stars you're looking at. I bet Chris knows what I mean and if it's any good?

Mo2 that was certainly Jupiter it is super bright it gets higher in the sky the further South you are so our friends in florid would find it quite high in the South.

The ISS has made some passes recently but it isn't due for a while now I'll keep you updated when it is cos when it is it is as bright as Jupiter is now.

Keith is referring to the Meade Mysky which is an awesoe piece of kit but TBH there are betetr ways I can spend your money :D
