German car manufacturer Opel has returned to Disneyland Paris as its official vehicle partner.
Opel will use the partnership with Disneyland Paris to promote its family friendly vehicles such as the Opel Zafira Tourer and the Opel Meriva. Opel will also tout its Ampera plug in to environmentally conscious families.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Disneyland Paris,” said Yves Pasquier-Desvignes, President of General Motors France. “Opel is a brand that has always placed innovation at the heart of its strategy. This agreement will enable us to jointly develop large-scale operations to present the latest technologies from Opel in reducing emissions and fuel consumption for the benefit of our clients and their families every day. ”
“General Motors France and Euro Disney Associates have announced the signature of a partnership agreement concerning the use of promotional rights for the Disney and Disneyland Paris brands. Under this agreement, GM’s Opel brand will be the official Disneyland Paris automotive partner for the next two years”, as GM says on its official website.
Disneyland Paris will operate a fleet of Opel Ampera extended-range electric vehicles.
General Motors says that the whole Disneyland Paris vehicle fleet will be replaced by Opel models such as the Vivaro, Movano or the new Combo, which seems to be like a great marketing strategy for the automaker into attracting new customers to the brand.
No price tag was attached to the deal, but the arrangement should work out nicely for Opel. Disneyland Paris – which happens to be Europe’s number-one tourist destination – receives more than 15 million visitors every year.
There’s no comment yet whether the General Motors subsidiary could return to sponsor the Backlot stunt show, but it will certainly make its presence known across the resort — if only for backstage Cast Members.
