Welcome home Keith! Glad you had a good time. Oh... and a good meal or six.

Now that part should be expanded in trip report.

Now you have your new found freedom, you must drive down to the Keys for a few days, you would love it.

We keep saying we will do it, but we never get round to it. Terry knows a wonderful place to stay down there :D

What's down there? It's something I've never looked into given the lack of car situation but I guess now it's a different matter :D

It`s just an amazing area Keith, so laid back it`s almost horizontal.
There is only one main road that runs right down the "spine" of the islands [US1] and you get some amazing sunsets and sunrises from the coasts which are very, very near US1.
There is a fantastic 7 mile bridge near the center of the Keys and it is quite an experience driving over it.

There`s not really a tremendous amount to "do" as such unless you are really into water sports or fishing, but there is a small, but very well run, dolphin sanctuary near to Marathon which is worth a look.
You could take a glass bottom boat ride out to the coral reef, or spend a day at Key West which is the main town for shopping for those touristy items.

Dining is excellent [and cheap compared to the Orlando area], and if nothing else the fish is fresh...often caught only a few hours before it gets presented on your plate!

It`s a fantastic area to just chill out and even though I don`t really do the "chill" thing, I find it very relaxing down there....well worth a visit.

Well I've never had a bad Slowhand recommendation so far so I'll add that one to the list for May/June!

    Welcome home!

I'm glad you've come over to the dark side (getting a car) I can't imagine not having one on vacation unless I'm in NYC.
