found out today that my boxer Charlie isn't very well at all. We had his thyroid levels checked a couple of weeks ago because he was losing fur and quite lethargic. The day we got the results he collapsed in the garden, luckily Caitlin was there and called me, stayed with him and put a towel on him until i got home. We started him on the pills but he seemed to go downhill, wasn't eating etc. We went back today and he had more bloods taken, an ECG and xRay, upshot is he has heart problems. We could take him to a specialist vet in Cambridge for scans and 24 hour ECGs etc but due to his breed and age it probably wouldn't be anything they could do. There is no cure certainly. We've decided as a family that we don't want to put him through all this for what could possibly be an extra 6 months. The vet I have here is wonderful and will do all she can to keep him comfortable with medication but no one knows what his prognosis is. He is only 7 bless him and our last boxer was 7 when he dropped down dead in front of us from a heart problem. I'm so sad right now but really proud of my kids how they've dealt with it and sat down with us and told us what they think. This boxer is going to be the most pampered in the country for however long he's got. Thanks for listening

Big hugs for you and Charlie. It is like having a member of the family sick, only worse because they can't tell us what is wrong with them

    Oh Brit I'm so sorry

If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together.......
there is something you must always remember.
You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
But the most important thing is, even if we're apart...... I'll always be with you.

no matter how close or far apart you may be.
A friend is someone who is always there and will always, always care.
A friend is a feeling of forever in the heart.
