We are going next August for the last 2 weeks, if anyone has been at that time of year what is the weather normally like and is it really busy?

HOT and HUMID. I can't speak for crowds though. You can probably anticipate rain periods almost every day though mostly passing showers that may be heavy at times.

Most people who go at that time of the year say that the parks aren't that busy. The weather is as John said, hot humid and wet, you get used to it though, every afternoon you can see the sky change and you know it's about time for the afternoon shower It doesn't normally last very long though and it dries up almost instantly.

We went last two weeks in August and the crowds were very manageable. Also we started off doing "get to the park for opening" but by the second week we were arriving at lunchtime and stayiing into the evening and getting far more done that way.

And we had 2 downpours the whole time we were there.

We have been to WDW the last two weeks of August at least 7-8 times and like previous posters have already stated it will be hot and humid with a bit of rain just about every day. The restaurants will be packed due to the free dining that will be going on at that time. Make your reservations as soon as possible. Drink plenty of water and save time for the pool. The lines aren't too bad except for Toy Story Mania and Soarin and The more popular rides. I guess you have to take into consideration that August is the beginning of hurricane season and that you will run the risk of a tropical storm or worse.

We go every year at the end of Aug. It is very hot and humid! The crowds are low though. If they are offering free dining then the resturants will be crowded. The pools are usually crowded as well.

I like to book a late lunch/early dinner to avoid the heat of the day and the afternoon storms. The rain doesn't usually last very long though.

Last 2 weeks of August- yes, very hot and very humid. I live here. It's awful for me with my MS, so I don;t do any parks all summer long- usually, esp. not August. Hurricane season starts June 1st until Nov. 30th, but a storm in August is usally bad news. I mean a hurricane type storm, we get the rain showers almst daily in summer. But they are over fast.

We have been 3 times in November and once in December we have had rain showers on all trips, it rained very hard one day last time we went and i was wearing white, enough said. So we are used to a bit of rain, not so much the heat or humidity.
We aren't really planning on doing the parks so much this time so I'm not to worried about crowds.

I bet the heat really affects your MS, I work with a number of people who have MS and the heat is a really problem for them.
