Exactly, as terrifying as it would have been to be on that plane the crew did as was needed and turned it around and evacuated safely, it could have been so much worse! Mind you I think they would have had to physically thrown me down those shutes!

It does sound like some training is in order. However, as others have said, they got everyone off of the plane safely. I guess, from what I have read there were a few minor injuries and one broken ankle.

Apparently the are trained to shout out out out very loudly. I guess if said at lower tone all would not hear or take notice. There is also meant to be 5% of people injured when evacuating on these slides. Check some training ones out on you tube, certainly makes you think. Certainly made me think about getting Beth off safely

Me too and there would have to be someone at the bottom to help me up as well.

It has to be loud, it has to be fast and they can't let anyone pause at the top. So by all accounts they did they job they had to.

Bit surprised that they're saying no one at the bottom to catch people though. All the training I've seen had a couple of people at the end of each chute to catch people and move them out the way before the next person hurtled down.

I suppose really that it doesnt matter how much training you've had - you never really know how someone is going to be in an emergency like that do you. I however would need no help or encouragement whatsoever to get off that plane!!
