A Cast Member at Walt Disney World was identified today as the pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run crash near theme-park property.
Liu Ye, 22 from China, was a participant in Disney's International College Program, which brings students from around the world to work in the Walt Disney World theme parks.
Disney spokesman Bryan Malenius confirmed she worked in attractions at the Magic Kingdom.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of our fellow Cast Member Liu Ye," Malenius said. "Our hearts go out to Ye's loved ones and we will continue to provide support to her family and co-workers."
The driver accused of running a red light and fatally striking Ye with a car was arrested Wednesday.
Jennifer Toth, 43, of San Jose, Calif., was charged with leaving the scene of a crash with a death, said FHP Sgt. Kim Montes.
The woman, who was staying at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando, was booked into the Orange County Jail on a $20,000 bond, records show.
Though troopers suspect alcohol could have played a role in the accident, Toth showed no signs of being under the influence when they made contact with her Wednesday. She made bond on Thursday.
