What happened to poor Sherman that he has to wear the guard?

The poor little guy got a hematoma in the pinna (ear flap) of his right ear. He had to have surgery to correct it and has to wear this Elizabethan satellite dish for 10 days.

It doesn't seem to bother him much but his mom and I think he's pitiful.

Tom (... at least he can't scratch his ears!)

Not so far. Biggest problem to date seems to be that he gets the edge caught on furniture, corners, chairs, legs, etc.

Of course he thinks his biggest problem is that he can't quite get into his dog bowl at meal time as easily as he could before.

Tom (... it's only for 10 days. At least that's what I keep telling myself.)

Ahh! Well Done Sherman for accepting it so easily He is a very handsome dog!

I am dreading getting Nando neutered, for the very reason that this sort of cone will drive him nuts! It's at least a year away yet though!

Oddly enough feeding and watering him were one of the first things that came to my mind when I saw the picture.
