I just finished it late last night and was much happier with this one than the last one.

I don't want to give anything away, but the ending made me very hopeful.

I read everything "vampire" out there but have kinda avoided the stackhouse novels because true blood went a bit weird :/ and so if the books are the same, I'd be disappointed.

    Perhaps I should try them!

The books are different enough that I don't compare the two. I love the show, but the books are always better (that's almost always the case). Give them a go Keith. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I think the biggest difference between the two is the raunchiness. Don't get me wrong, that's one of the reasons I love the show, but the books are able to bring more life to the characters (even to the dead ones, haha).

I think the books are extremely different from the show. The books are much more light.

Going to download it now. Always really liked the books, although they give the series a good run for their money, I saw the TV series first and then the books and definitely preferred the books.
