    I want the canon 200mm lens with the lockable focus for my sky work but its about 400

    i got my tamron for 69 with my camera- it was rude at that price to turn that down!!

    did you get it just a few months back? as i know someone who got the same deal. my 70-300 was around 130ish

    I love astronomy photography. Some funky moon shots on here.

    My biggest zoom lens is a Canon 70-200mm F4 L. The shot below as on a tripod, and let me capture the moon at about 1/500th of a second on TV mode so it didn't blow out with it's brightness.

    Thanks a lot. I think I need a 2x extender next.

    TV Mode lets you adjust the shutter speed, and it will auto select the aperture for you. AV mode will do the opposite, let you select the Aperture, and auto select the shutter speed.

    ahhhhhh so thats the difference, will have to have a play on that one, have been waiting for some clear skies to try my 70-300 out

    as you say you like astronomy shots look up skywatchers planet shots totally awesome i think
