Oh Sam, that's horrible. I swear that there must be a two different species of humans as I do not recognise how people can do things like that :(

If the troop can be involved in the fundraising it may help them feeling so upset about it, help them feel like they are doing something about it. But they shouldn't have to, should they?

Well the scout group had a meeting this evening for the parents and it was good to see so many there.

The group has been offered lots of venues for free to use until a new hut is built which is great at least all the groups can keep going.

There were lots of fund raising ideas banded about and I've got a lot of support for the aerobathon I'm going to organise. One young lad had a fantastic idea, he suggested that we get people to buy a brick for a 1.

The group have set up a just give page and a lot of people have already given some money. But whilst the meeting was on tonight a very nice gentleman came in and approached Rob the chairman whilst someone else was speaking. He handed Rob an envelope then left quickly before Rob had a chance to open it and thank him. Inside was a cheque for 1000. Doesn't that make you have faith in people after all.

Thats great Sam, glad things are going to come together and the Scouts have somewhere to go. I was a Venture Scout when I was younger, a cub then scout leader, I can't impress enough the values that the scouting organisation installs in its members.

Wonderful that people are stepping up and helping out! Lord Baden-Powell would have been proud.

Now, I just hope the police also step up, catch the miscreants that did this, and show them what the long arm of the law is all about.

Sadly if and it's a big if :( they do catch them, it's unlikely they will get punished very much the legal system in this country has gone to the dogs along with everything else

That does restore faith in people, doesn't it Sam? It's one of those things that reminds us that not everyone is horrible. There are more good people in this world, than not. It's just that the good people do things quietly and without fanfare and don't get the "press time" that the criminals do.

I have to say that there are good people in the world, people who want to help and are there during rough times Well those people seem to be members of this forum. I look forward to having a read and chatting with you guys and I feel sometimes closer to you than I do with some of the people around me.

Thank you all for being so great.
