Once again London showing the world how it's done. Very moving opening ceremony.

The Skywatcher family are currently at the Aquatics Centre waiting for the swimming to start.

The Ashdown family will be in the Olympic Stadium on Monday for the athletics.

Will post some pics when I can, utterly humbling, inspirational and proud.

We had the best seats in the house as it seems they sold athlete tickets at the last minute.

The TV will never do justice to the noise in that pool, when Fox broke the world record it was quite literally deafening !

    Opening ceremony was inspirational also.

Fiercely proud of our country, not only for staging this so well and for supporting it so utterly , but for the attitudinal changes which are obvious - people are not watching with pity but with pride

The Channel 4 coverage is seriously frustrating.

Last night they cut away from a basketball game tied with 4 minutes to go in the final quarter to show adverts and a bit of talking.

Everytime you get into something they switch to something else. I had dancing horsies for 10 minutes this afternoon then I turned my head away and when I looked back it was basketball.

It's so tough to watch. As soon as I get into something, like you say, it's gone.

    Conversation yesterday...

Steven: "Mummy what's the S14 class?"

Me: "It's for swimmers with an intellectual impairment."

Steven: "So they might be autistic or not be able to remember how many lengths they've done."

Me: "That's exactly right Steven. Let's watch it and see how well they can swim."

Steven: "Mummy, why is the swimming now basketball?"

    Me:

My 9 year old wants to understand it but is not being given a chance.

Just had the most amazing day in the Olympic Stadium/Park. I feel privileged to be able to say I've been to the Olympics and the Paralympics. London you rule. It's been an unbelievable summer.

    Pictures to follow. :D

Sorry it's taken a while these are some of my photos from our day.

My favourite is Jess Long vogueing she is an incredible athlete, such a shame the games and her achievements get such little coverage in the US

Wonderful photos, Chris. Thank you so much for sharing them here. We had no coverage at all from what I could see. It's pretty discouraging to have such little interest in the world around us...
