Has anyone recently (say in the last two years or so) been to Galway (Galway City in particular)?

If so, where did you stay?

    Thanks!

We stayed in a Travelodge though as it was the best option for us as we were there for Alan to work.

As it is a chain it's obviously not a typical Irish hotel but it was adequate for our needs

Thank you Sister Tinkerbell! Did you enjoy your time there? I know when going for work, it's different then going on holiday, but just wondering about your thoughts on the area?

Galway town was lovely, we could have very easily spent a lot more time there
There are lots of little shops, restaurants and bars. We ate a tiny little place where we had Galway bay mussels and it was fantastic. I'll ask Alan if he can remember the name of it. I remember that they didn't have a changing room for the boy, so they opened the private room upstairs so I could change him in private.
Not sure if I have any pictures, I will have a look.

Some of the houses are stunning too, and the statues etc are well worth a look at.

    I'd love to go back
