    What bank is it?

I'd be closing my account as soon as the money was back. That customer service is outrageous.

That doesn't surprise me. We both moved from them some time ago. DH went to Barclays and I'm with Alliance&L. So far we've both had better service.

Issy, when you go in that bank, you just imagine me standing right next to you. Keep telling yourself if you don't talk with them firmly, I'm going to lose my very famous Irish and Italian temper and embarrass the daylights out of everyone.

Tell them that this has carried on long enough, and if they are unable to resolve the situation immediately by returning your money, now, then you are going to seek other avenues of satisfaction that will include informing the public of the poor service you are receiving!

UGH! They really are poor excuses for a bank.

Diane, we are with the Nationwide and their customer service is brilliant, you can phone your local branch and go in a see someone anytime. With an emergency like that they would have arranged for you to see someone the same day.

Why did it not surprise me when you said it was Lloyds TSB

How long does it take to drive from Plymouth to you Chris could pretend to be your husband - he is brilliant in situations like that
