I know all xmas gifts are special and its the thought that counts

But I was wondering, what is the best xmas present you ever received and why?

I went into the loft yesterday and found my hidden treasure... its 20 years old and is by far the best xmas present I ever had.

Its a dolls house that my Dad (ukwdwnut) made for me when I was 6 or 7. Money was tight back then for my mum and dad so instead of the ridiculously expensive dolls house I wanted so bad my dad decided to put his craftmanship to use and made this incredible dolls house!

I see he was always praising me and my brother on here so its now time I did the same! how amazing is this!

It's beautiful Lauren and how lovely that you have it again! I used to make doll's houses with my dad too, he still has some if them at his house - lovely memories!

What a wonderful Doll House your dad built Lauren. It is wonderful that you have found it and have your treasured memories.

It's so beautiful to have something he made especially for you with his own hands, isn't it?

You'll have it forever, and perhaps one day your child will play with it too.

Thank you for sharing the story and the photos with us, Lauren. (And you are right, he never had anything other than praise and good words for you and your brother).
